The Economist recently asked: do good looks and professional success go hand in hand? As any student council president can tell you, the answer is yes.
Daniel Hammermash, a professor of economics at the University of Texas, compared this relationship over a variety of professions, including the law. Looking at the future careers of law students:
“He found that those rated attractive on the basis of their graduation photographs went on to earn higher salaries than their less well-favoured colleagues. Moreover, lawyers in private practice tended to be better looking than those working in government departments.”
