Past President of The Florida Bar Greg Coleman recently said of The Florida Bar Executive Director Jack Harkness, “There is no single person who has meant more to the legal profession and Florida lawyers than Jack Harkness. He has been the guiding force behind every Florida Bar president and has made our Bar the most recognized and influential in the country.” Jack has served as executive director for 36 years, and has been so instrumental to the organization that The Florida Bar has formally named its headquarters building after him, a building now colloquially known as “the Jack.” Fellow Fastcase 50 honoree and Immediate Past President Ray Abadin has this advice for future presidents: “Do what you want, but listen to Jack.”
